The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Our first graders have created their own hungry caterpillar. We had a guest artist, Mr. Bill Garvey, come in to teach us the technique of collage. We put our lesson into a slide show on voice thread...please check it out with the link below. We also created a video with our flip camera!

Social Studies Projects
We recently completed a unit on Needs and Want, Goods and Services in Social Studies. The students did two take home projects. The first project was a Needs and Wants Poster. The second project was a Goods and Services Wheel. I am very pleased with the student's projects. Here a few of our projects!
Wow! What great work Hannah. I loved your wheels. Keep up the great work.
Super Job Devon! I love the way you did your needs and wants poster.

Collection for Japan
Our hearts and prayers go out to the people in Japan. Even though we are only first graders we did discuss briefy this tragedy. Our school decided to do a collection for the Red Cross.Students wore their pajamas and brought in donations. Some of our students took money out of their own piggy banks.
Talk about a teachable moment! Our classroom donation totaled $58.42! WOW! The school collected between teachers and students about $650.00.
Thank you all for your generosity.
